Dr. Pinaki Mukhopadhyay is Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Nephrology at NRS Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata. In addition to his teaching career, Dr. Mukhopadhyay visits several hospitals in and around Kolkata as a Consultant Nephrologist. Dr. Pinaki Mukhopadhyay qualified as a Nephrologist from the prestigious PGIMER Chandigarh, obtaining the postdoctoral DM (Nephrology) superspeciality degree. Prior to this, during his undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies in Kolkata, he excelled at academics and was the recipient of multiple gold medals and awards. Dr. Mukhopadhyay has also undergone training in critical care nephrology in San Diego, USA, and attended several other courses and workshops to enhance his medical knowledge and skills.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay has published a few original articles and abstracts in national and international journals, with a few more awaiting publication. He has won awards for best paper presentations at conferences in India and abroad. He regularly writes on health-related topics in newspapers and magazines, and participates in programmes on radio and TV.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay was responsible for upgrading the dialysis services at NRS Medical College and Hospital. In addition to teaching medical students in nephrology, he runs a dialysis technician course and a nurses training programme at NRS. He is a paper setter, examiner and thesis guide, and also a reviewer for several medical journals.
